Some attention has been paid to the studies on error-correcting codes over symbol-pair read channels. Several algebraic decoding algorithms for correcting errors to some extent have been already proposed over the channels. On the other hand, list decoding algorithms correcting errors algebraically over the bounded distance have been studied in coding theory over $q$ ary input $q$ ary output channels. A list decoding radius of a code is one of criterion of complexity of list decoding algorithms. In this paper, we defined a list decoding radius over symbol-pair read channels, and we derived a lower bound of a list decoding radius. |
