Abstract
(English)
Suppose web servers with certain service period. Their traffic often drastically increase around opening and closing times of services. One of the conventional methods for World Wide Web (WWW) traffic analysis has been to estimate coefficients under the Fourier series expansion of the density parameter where the nonstationary Poisson process is assumed. However, the number of coefficients can be huge if this method is applied for analysis of traffic of the web servers with certain service period. One of approaches for this problem can be to prepare the other functions to express the increased traffic around opening and closing services. This paper assumes the exponential functions to express the traffic under opening and closing services and examines the relationships between these functions and parameter estimation performances by some numerical simulations.
